Finca Santa Elisa Pachup is a coffee estate situated in the Acatenango region of Guatemala, near San Pedro Yepocapa. The farm lies on the western slopes of the Acatenango and Fuego volcanoes, with Fuego being one of the world’s most active volcanoes. Covering 506 hectares in total, 360 hectares are dedicated to coffee cultivation, making it a significant source of income for the local community.
After facing low production in 2017 with only 700 quintales of coffee cherries harvested, the farm underwent extensive refurbishment and adopted innovative management techniques. These efforts have increased production to approximately 34,000 quintales of cherries.
This coffee lot was processed by Los Volcanes Coffee at the Beneficio La Esperanza mill in Antigua. Due to frequent ash deposits from Volcán de Fuego, the cherries require careful washing to prevent damage to the depulping equipment.
Finca Santa Elisa is known for experimenting with various coffee varieties, including Sarchimor, H1, and Tekisic. This particular lot is of the Marsellesa - Sarchimor variety, processed using the washed method.
The coffee is lightly roasted with a filter roast profile, originating from the Acatenango area in Chimaltenango, Guatemala.
